Zero Company Builds

About

An independent Zero Company companion

A tool-first companion for squad composition, Operator builds, class combinations and combat synergies — built so that you can always tell where a claim came from.

Why this site exists

Star Wars Zero Company came out on 27 August 2026. Around the launch of a tactics game the internet fills up with build guides written by people who have barely played it — and there is usually no way to tell those apart from the ones grounded in what the developers actually said, or in what somebody sat down and measured.

This site takes the opposite approach. Every mechanic, ability and build carries a source, a “last verified” date and a confidence label. Where the information does not exist, pages say so. Several pages here are shorter than they could be, and one Operator page deliberately carries no build advice at all, because the character’s abilities have not been published.

The Squad Builder works the same way. Its rules are deterministic and traceable — each synergy it reports names the mechanic it rests on and whether that mechanic is confirmed or our own reading.

About the name

This site is Zero Company Builds. Readers who already use EA’s own abbreviation for the game — SWZC — tend to write it as SWZC Builds, and both names mean this site. It is published at www.zerocompanybuilds.com.

It is not the game’s name, and it is not EA’s site. Star Wars Zero Company is the game, published by Electronic Arts and developed by Bit Reactor with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. This is an independent fan project with no affiliation to any of them, and nothing here is endorsed by them — the same statement stands in the footer of every page.

Evidence

What each label means

Every claim-bearing page carries one of these. This is the only place they are explained at length — everywhere else on the site they appear as the badge alone.

Confirmed
Directly stated by EA, StarWars.com, or a developer interview.
Official footage
Clearly visible in official video or UI, but not described in text.
Achievement
Required by a pre-release trophy or achievement, so the action ships in the retail game — but the requirement is a task, not a mechanics description.
Preview-reported
Reported by a previewer with hands-on access to a pre-release build; not officially documented.
Retail-reported
Observed in the retail build by an outlet's review or hands-on, and not yet reproduced here.
Theorycraft
A reasoned combination of confirmed mechanics, not yet validated in retail gameplay.
Tested
Verified through repeatable gameplay in the retail build, at a stated version.
Community
Player-submitted and clearly labelled. Not checked against the evidence rules the rest of the site follows.
Outdated
Superseded by newer evidence, or by a patch that changed the mechanic.

Editorial

What this site will not do

  • Invent ability names, statistics or costs to make a page look complete.
  • Publish a database entry before there is enough data to justify it.
  • Generate a page for every possible class combination or Operator permutation.
  • Present theorycraft as though it were tested.
  • Copy official articles or reproduce marketing copy instead of summarising and linking.
  • Use spoiler-heavy titles to capture launch searches.

Accountability

Who runs this

One person, writing under the handle Watson editor and maintainer. Every editorial decision on this site, every confidence label and every refusal to guess is mine, and corrections come to me directly rather than into a queue nobody owns.

The site itself was built and is run by TSMW Development LTD, an independent UK software studio registered in England and Wales under company number 17204316 — my company, and the same one person. It builds websites, web apps and bespoke software for small businesses; this site is its own project rather than client work, and no one pays to appear anywhere on it. Naming it is the point: a fan site that will not say who is behind it is asking for a trust it has not offered to earn.

If something here is wrong, the corrections form is the fastest route — it asks for the source alongside the claim, which is what makes a correction actionable. You can also reach me at corrections@zerocompanybuilds.com. Every change that results is logged publicly on the updates page, including the ones where the site was wrong.

Independence

Affiliation and trademarks

An independent, unofficial fan-made companion. Not endorsed by or affiliated with Electronic Arts, Lucasfilm or Bit Reactor. Star Wars and all related marks are trademarks of their respective owners.

The game’s title is used descriptively, to say what this site is about — not as a claim of ownership or endorsement. The visual identity, diagrams and interface here are original work, and official material is linked rather than reproduced.
