What that means when you are planning
Zero Company is a mercenary outfit rather than a Republic unit, which is what puts a clone trooper, a Mandalorian, an Umbaran and a Jedi Padawan on the same roster without any of it needing explaining away.
The Den is both the base and a place you walk around: between missions you explore it in third person, and the conversations you have there unlock side missions and leads that appear nowhere else. It is not a menu with a background image.
