What that means when you are planning
StarWars.com give the credit as "developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games". Bit Reactor is the studio whose leadership came out of the modern XCOM games, which is the reason nearly every preview reaches for that comparison within a paragraph.
Greg Foertsch and James Brawley are the two names attached to most of what is publicly known about the systems — the eight Specializations, the Advantage economy and the rules around changing an authored character's Specialization all come from their interviews rather than from marketing copy.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- How the work is divided between Bit Reactor and Respawn. "In collaboration with" is the only description published.
