Evidenced before launch

Scout as the squad's Advantage battery

The one class that fills the shared pool on purpose rather than as a side effect of shooting.

What it needs

In the squad
Scout — Combat Recon and Tactical Timing · Any second Operator
The builder checks
A Scout, plus at least one other filled slot to spend what it generates.

Mechanism

Why it works

Advantage arrives one point at a time as Operators damage enemies, so ordinary income is a function of how many separate attacks a squad lands. Every class generates that way.

The Scout generates outside it. Combat Recon grants 1 Advantage for every enemy caught in its area, so a single action against a cluster pays several times over, and Tactical Timing grants another on a kill.

Because the pool is shared and starts every fight empty, that income funds somebody else's Ultimate rather than the Scout's. This is what turns an expensive ability from an occasional play into a repeatable one — which is why the pairing is with the squad rather than with any one class.

Cost

What it gives up

A squad slot spent on a class whose own damage is modest, and Combat Recon's Action Point is one the Scout did not spend shooting.

In practice

Squads built on this

Curated builds whose four Operators trigger this finding in the Squad Builder. Derived from the same engine, so the two lists cannot disagree.

What we don't know yet

The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.

  • How many Scout abilities generate Advantage, and how much each yields at each rank.
  • Whether Combat Recon's per-enemy grant is capped.
  • Whether a multi-target attack generates one Advantage or one per enemy damaged — which decides how much of the Scout's advantage over other classes is real.
