In combat
Can you knock enemies off the map in Zero Company?
Yes. Knocking an enemy out of the combat space defeats it, and a pre-release trophy requires doing it.

What that means when you are planning
A previewer did it with a Concussion Grenade, describing enemies knocked clean out of the combat space, and the achievement list confirms it is an intended way to defeat an enemy rather than a bug someone found.
It is one of four outcomes displacement can produce. The others are knocking an enemy out of cover, knocking it into a squadmate's waiting Overwatch cone — which EA recommend themselves, for both Tel-Rea Vokoss' Force Push and Kabb Uppercut's Uppercut — and knocking one enemy into another, which a separate achievement requires.
The practical consequence is that a displacement build is a damage source and not only a control one. An enemy near an edge effectively has less health than the same enemy standing in the open, regardless of what its health bar says.
How far anything pushes is unpublished, and so is whether heavy or armoured enemies resist it. Until those are known, treat ring-outs as an opportunity you take when a map offers one rather than a plan you build a turn around.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- How far each displacement source pushes.
- Whether heavy units, armoured units or bosses resist displacement.
- Whether every map has an edge that counts as out of the combat space.
- What an enemy-to-enemy collision does to either of them.
