The short answer
No. Weapon models, colours and blaster patterns are cosmetic, and so is clone armour.

What that means when you are planning
What does affect gameplay is the Weapon Mod fitted to a weapon, not the weapon's appearance. Mods alter stats and can apply distinct effects — at least one applies Burning on hit — and a fitted mod is visible on the model, which is the one place appearance and effect meet.
Mods are swapped freely between missions rather than consumed on fitting, so there is no cost to experimenting with them.
