What changes how you build them
- He starts as a Sharpshooter, and can be changed to any of the eight at the Den.
- His fixed Talent is Combat Gas: 2 Advantage, no Action Point, once per battle. It grants stacks of Sharpened Senses worth +5% chance to hit and +1 ranged damage each, from two at the first rank to six at the last, with one stack consumed by every ranged attack.
- Costing no Action Point is what decides how he is played: he can activate it on turn one, reposition, and still fire a 2 AP long arm before the fight has properly started.
- It solves accuracy as well as damage, which is the specific problem a long-range Operator has — range imposes hit-chance penalties, and a missed Sharpshooter shot can cost a whole turn.
- Because it helps any Operator who fires a weapon, it does not argue for keeping him a Sharpshooter. A Scout is the interesting alternative: its Ultimate scales with the Advantage pool and, unlike the Sharpshooter's, can miss — which is the problem Combat Gas exists to solve.
- One genuine anti-synergy: the Sharpshooter's Ultimate always hits and still consumes a stack, so part of the Talent is wasted on it.
- He is unlocked late, around cycle 18.
- Stacked on Sharpshooter Training's flat +10% and Zero In's Lethal, he reaches accuracy no other Operator can. Whether that overshoots what the maps require is worth testing.
- A former Umbaran soldier who defended his homeworld against the Republic invasion and has not forgiven it.
- Umbara sided with the Separatists, so he and Trick — a clone trooper — start on poor terms. That friction is a Bond consideration, not just flavour.
Specializations
Recommended Specializations
These are our reading of the character's confirmed identity, not confirmed starting classes.
- Sharpshooter
His actual class, and the one Combat Gas is built for: Sharpened Senses answers the range penalties that are a long-range Operator's main constraint.
- Scout
The better argument, not just the fallback. The Scout's Ultimate scales with the Advantage pool and can miss, and Combat Gas is the only Talent that answers exactly that — where on a Sharpshooter it partly overlaps with an Ultimate that already cannot miss.
Bonds
Confirmed Very High Bond pairings
Each of these is required by a pre-release trophy, so the pairing is evidenced to reach the top tier. A pairing that is not listed is unknown, not impossible.
- Luco Bronc + HawksAchievement
- Luco Bronc + TrickAchievement
The one pairing a source describes as starting hostile: Umbara fought the clones. That a trophy exists for taking it to Very High means the starting animosity is repairable, not permanent.
What a Bond level actually pays out — and which of the three Cross Training options to take — is on the Bonds database page.
Open questions
Points the shipped game has not yet answered for us, or that need a controlled comparison to state as fact — recorded rather than guessed at.
- The stack count at the ranks between two and six.
- Whether stacks survive into the next turn, or expire at the end of the one they were bought in. With only one activation per battle the difference is large.
- Whether stacks are lost on movement as Zero In's Lethal is, and whether a miss still consumes one.
- His starting weapon.
- Whether cycle 18 is his fixed unlock or simply when one playthrough reached him.
