Taunt without a Heavy
Redirecting one dangerous attacker for the price of a Talent rather than a squad slot.

- pre-release (no retail build)
What it needs
- In the squad
- Taunt Talent · Any squad without a Heavy
- The builder checks
- An Operator carrying the Taunt Talent, in a squad with no Heavy.
Mechanism
Why it works
The Taunt Talent forces a single enemy to attack its holder, and its ranks cut that enemy's damage by up to 6.
It is not a Heavy. There is no area taunt and no passive taunt on every shot, so it cannot gather a group or hold a line.
Against one deadly attacker it is the same answer at a much lower price: a Talent slot instead of one of four squad slots. That matters most for squads built around damage that cannot spare a slot for a dedicated tank.
Cost
What it gives up
The Talent slot, which could have bought Grit, Fortitude or an economy Talent — and it answers exactly one enemy per use.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- How many times per fight the Taunt Talent can be used.
- Whether a taunted enemy can be taunted again, or is immune afterwards.
- Whether the damage reduction applies to the taunted enemy's attacks on everyone, or only on the Talent's holder.
