What this Talent is actually for
The Talent that most changes squad composition, because it means a squad can redirect the one enemy that matters without spending a slot on a Heavy. It is not a replacement for one — the Heavy taunts an area and taunts passively through every shot — but against a single deadly attacker, this is the same answer at a fraction of the cost. The damage reduction is the underrated half: it turns the taunt from redirection into mitigation, so pulling the attack is strictly better than letting it land elsewhere.
Pairings
Specializations it combines with
A Talent is chosen separately from a class, so these are combinations you assemble yourself rather than anything the game groups for you.
- Heavy
Stacked on the Heavy itself it adds single-target control to an area taunt, and the damage reduction compounds with flat Defense.
- Medic
Concentrating a specific attacker onto one predictable Operator is the condition single-target healing is most efficient under.
- Assault
An Assault that has already charged into the open is going to be shot at; taunting the target it chose makes that exposure deliberate.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- The Action Point cost, and whether it has a range limit.
- Whether any enemy type resists taunt at higher difficulties.
- How long the damage reduction lasts.
