Abilities
Confirmed abilities
No abilities have been officially named for the Heavy yet. Rather than list plausible-sounding names, this section stays empty until a source publishes them.
Squad partners
Who to pair the class with
Each pairing states whether the interaction is officially confirmed or our reading of confirmed mechanics.
- Medic
The Heavy converts squad-wide damage into damage on one Operator; the Medic then heals and prevents the Injuries that follow.
- Sharpshooter
A stationary frontline anchor buys the time a long-range Operator needs to set up shots.
Strengths
- Officially described as able to absorb attacks in the open, which is the one role that does not need cover to function.
- Holding a position lets the rest of the squad take flanking and high-ground angles.
- Reduces the number of Injuries spread across fragile Operators.
Weaknesses
- Absorbing damage still generates Injuries, and three Injuries mean permanent death on standard difficulty.
- Heavy weapons may constrain movement, so the squad's tempo can suffer.
- Mitigation values are entirely unknown before launch.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Whether the Heavy has a true taunt or only positional threat.
- Mitigation values, armour rules and whether armour is separate from health.
- Its ability list and AP costs.
- Whether heavy weapons carry a movement penalty.
