What that means when you are planning
A previewer working through the character creator confirms the same six. The additional species EA name — Neimoidian, Ovissian and Weequay — are for recruited Operators rather than for Hawks.
The choice is not permanent. Species and appearance can both be changed later, between missions, at the Den's customisation station, which makes the character creator a much lower-stakes screen than it looks.
Species carries no weapon-proficiency advantage, so this is a roleplay decision rather than an optimisation one.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Whether the six are the whole set open to Hawks — EA introduce them with "such as".
- Whether changing species at the Den costs anything.
