Build value
What this Talent is actually for
Invulnerability is a hard stop rather than damage reduction, which is what makes it the strongest defensive effect in the game and the reason the taunt-and-absorb pattern works at all: pull a group onto a Heavy with Bulwark, then make that Heavy briefly unhittable, and the entire enemy turn is spent achieving nothing. Two stacks at max rank is two whole attacks ignored. Weigh it against Anticipation — Grit is thicker on one Operator, Anticipation is spread across the squad.
Pairings
Specializations it combines with
A Talent is chosen separately from a class, so these are combinations you assemble yourself rather than anything the game groups for you.
- Heavy
The single strongest combination found before launch. Bulwark taunts the group into attacking one Operator, and Grit makes that Operator immune to the consequences.
- Assault
Charging out of cover is the most exposed action in the game, and Invulnerable covers the turn that exposure is paid for.
- Medic
An attack ignored entirely costs no healing at all, which frees the Medic's Action Points for Combat Stim rather than repair work.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Whether Invulnerable expires at end of turn or waits to be consumed.
- Whether it stops area damage as completely as it stops a direct attack.
- Whether it can be cast on an ally at any rank, as Anticipation can.
