Build value
What this Talent is actually for
An automatic miss is a hard stop, not a probability, which makes it the cleanest answer to a telegraphed attack you can see coming. The final rank is what changes its role: three casts a turn, placed on allies, turns one Operator into the squad's reaction defence, and it does not need the recipient to be built defensively at all. That is the argument for it over Grit — Grit is thicker on one body, Anticipation is spread across four.
Pairings
Specializations it combines with
A Talent is chosen separately from a class, so these are combinations you assemble yourself rather than anything the game groups for you.
- Assault
Charging into the open is the most exposed thing a squad does, and Evasion cancels the first attack that punishes it.
- Sharpshooter
Zero In's Lethal stacks are lost if the Sharpshooter is knocked out of place. An attack that automatically misses cannot displace it.
- Medic
At max rank a support Operator can spend spare Action Points shielding whoever is about to be focused, which is cheaper than healing the damage afterwards.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Whether Evasion expires at end of turn or persists until it is consumed.
- Whether it can stack more than one Evasion on the same Operator.
- Whether an area attack is evaded in full or only the portion aimed at that Operator.
