What this Talent is actually for
The most conditional Talent in the pool and the easiest to plan around, because missions tell you what is coming. Six damage is a large flat bonus in a game where an ordinary Defense value is 2, and it is worth most on whichever Operator lands the single biggest hit rather than the most hits — a Sharpshooter's Precision Shot, or a Scout emptying the Advantage pool into an Ambush. Against a mission of rank-and-file droids it does nothing whatsoever.
Pairings
Specializations it combines with
A Talent is chosen separately from a class, so these are combinations you assemble yourself rather than anything the game groups for you.
- Sharpshooter
Precision Shot cannot miss and reaches +50% critical damage, so a flat +6 lands on the largest hit the squad has.
- Scout
Ambush already scales with the whole Advantage pool. Adding a flat bonus to the one shot that consumes everything is the cleanest boss-damage stack available.
- Scoundrel
Identify Weakness guarantees the critical; this Talent decides how much that critical is worth against the target it is usually saved for.
What we don't know yet
The game has not been released. These are open questions we have chosen not to guess at.
- Which enemies count as elite, and whether the bonus applies to bosses only or to a broader tier.
- The bonus at the first and middle ranks.
- Whether it applies to melee and grenade damage or blaster damage alone.
